Smarter Sensors for Better Wash Cycles
Samsung Electronics is bringing advanced automation to the laundry room with its new Bespoke AI Front Load Washer and Dryer lineup.
The updated appliances combine intelligent fabric sensing, a built-in Smart Screen, and heavy SmartThings integration.
Scheduled for release in July 2026, the machines aim to eliminate the guesswork of laundry while drastically cutting household energy use.
Samsung Launches Bespoke AI Washer and Dryer Lineup With Upgraded 5-Fabric Smart Sensing
Fabric Recognition Meets AI
The washer features AI Wash+, an upgraded system that recognizes up to five distinct fabric types.
It now detects heavier materials like denim and outdoor apparel alongside standard garments. Onboard sensors analyze the load’s weight and fabric blend to automatically adjust water levels, spin speeds, and detergent dosage.
The companion dryer utilizes AI Dry+ technology to optimize performance. By continuously monitoring moisture levels and fabric types, the machine adjusts its inverter compressor and heat exchanger.
Samsung reports this targeted heat generation reduces energy consumption and drying times by up to 20 percent.
Touchscreens and Voice Control
Both machines feature a 7-inch LCD screen acting as an intuitive control hub.
The touchscreen remembers user habits, suggests optimal cycles, and delivers timely maintenance alerts. For deeper insights, users can pull detailed water and energy consumption reports through the SmartThings app.
Samsung also integrated an upgraded Bixby voice assistant directly into the appliances.
Users can start specific cycles, add rinse time, or check remaining wash duration purely through voice commands. Bixby even provides spoken feedback based on the on-screen data.
Massive Energy Savings
The Bespoke AI lineup leverages SmartThings Energy to track daily, weekly, and monthly electricity costs.
Activating AI Energy Mode on compatible wash programs cuts electricity use by up to 70 percent. The system uses AI Ecobubble technology to effectively wash clothes in cooler water, automatically extending the cycle time to maintain cleaning power.
The dryer’s AI Energy Mode achieves its own 20 percent reduction through intelligent heat optimization.
Despite the tech upgrades, the Bespoke AI Washer retains a standard 24-inch depth to fit existing laundry spaces. Washers will be available in 9kg to 11kg capacities, while the matching dryer handles 9kg loads.
