YouTube giant James Stephen Donaldson, known globally as MrBeast, is officially married. He recently tied the knot with 28-year-old content creator and author Thea Booysen.
Donaldson announced the news on Instagram, dropping photos from their tropical white wedding. He captioned the reveal: “I found MrsBeast and it was the best day of my life.”

Who is Thea Booysen?
Now going by Thea Donaldson, the 28-year-old built her own following long before meeting the YouTube billionaire. She streams regularly on Twitch under the alias TheaBeasty.
Booysen is also deeply embedded in the competitive gaming industry. She operates as the co-owner of Nixuh, a prominent South African esports organization.
Academic Background and Publishing
Beyond her digital footprint, Booysen carries a heavy academic resume. She earned dual degrees in law and psychology from Stellenbosch University.
She later pursued a master’s degree in human cognitive neuropsychology at the University of Edinburgh. In 2022, she transitioned into traditional publishing, releasing her debut young adult novel, The Marked Children.
From South Africa to Necker Island
The couple’s relationship began in 2022 when Donaldson traveled to South Africa. They met at a dinner organized by a mutual friend.
Booysen noted she was surprised by his intelligence and grounded nature. After shifting their connection online, the pair began dating and made their first public appearance in April 2022.
Donaldson kept the proposal intimate. He asked her to marry him at home on Christmas Day in 2024.
