Instagram Services Disrupted
Meta’s popular photo-sharing and messaging platform is experiencing a widespread outage.
User reports of Instagram malfunctions surged on Downdetector, signaling a sudden wave of connectivity issues. At 6:00 p.m., only 436 users noted problems. Just over an hour later, at 7:13 p.m., that number spiked to 1,993 simultaneous reports.
Where the App is Failing
The disruption appears heavily concentrated on mobile devices. According to the tracking data, 59% of affected users pinpointed the mobile app itself as the primary failure point.
Server connectivity accounts for 19% of the complaints. Meanwhile, 13% of users are struggling to access the desktop website.
Broken Inboxes and Blank Screens
The outage is actively preventing users from communicating. Direct messaging services are failing, leaving users unable to send or receive texts.
Other widespread symptoms include completely blank display screens and user profiles loading incorrectly. Messaging inboxes are also freezing, failing to refresh with incoming data.
