A Romance Goes Public in Idaho
What started as a quietly guarded romance is rapidly evolving into a highly visible partnership. Kim Kardashian and Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton are taking their relationship public.
The couple recently took a family getaway to Idaho, proving their momentum hasn’t slowed since rumors first surfaced earlier this year. Shortly after Kardashian posted her own pictures from the trip, the racing champion decided to share his perspective.
“Keep Your People Close”
On July 16, Hamilton gave his Instagram followers a rare look into his private life off the track. The Ferrari star uploaded a photo dump from their early-month retreat in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
“Keep your people close,” Hamilton captioned the series. The album featured snaps alongside Kardashian, her children, and his own nieces and nephews.
The gallery opened with a sweet selfie showing a young girl named Willow kissing the driver’s cheek. It was quickly followed by a sunset group shot featuring Hamilton, Kardashian, and her youngest children, six-year-old Psalm and eight-year-old Chicago West.
Hamilton didn’t shy away from showcasing the adventurous side of the vacation. One photo captured the blended group fully geared up in helmets, ready for a day of motocross riding.
The F1 driver also made sure to highlight candid moments with the SKIMS founder. One snapshot showed the pair exchanging smiles on the deck of a boat, followed by a playful action shot where Kardashian pulled Hamilton into the lake alongside her.
The carousel ended with a peaceful image of the couple walking arm-in-arm down a tree-lined trail. Kardashian publicly acknowledged the post by dropping a heart emoji and a “like” for all to see.
Vacation Posts Clash With Family Tragedy
While the Coeur d’Alene trip provided pristine memories, the timing of the photo drop sparked immediate backlash for Kardashian.
On July 16, as Hamilton uploaded his gallery, Kardashian posted her own lakeside photos with her sister Khloé. Unfortunately, that same day, her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon, passed away.
Critics quickly accused the reality star of insensitivity for posting vacation shots on a day of mourning. Kardashian promptly stepped in to clarify the unfortunate digital overlap.
“This post was scheduled a few days ago, before we lost MJ, so it coincided with her passing,” Kardashian explained. She added that she had spent the last week exclusively by her mother and grandmother’s side.
Following the clarification, Kardashian posted a dedicated tribute to the family matriarch.
“My sweet grandma MJ, my best friend, my gossip partner, my eternal twin,” she wrote. “You were the woman who showed me what it means to be a hardworking businesswoman. You gave me my first job in your San Diego store and taught me lessons on work ethic, strength, and confidence.”
