Jimmy Donaldson, the YouTube phenomenon globally known as MrBeast, is officially a married man. He tied the knot with his longtime partner, Thea Booysen, during an exclusive ceremony on Richard Branson’s Necker Island.
The couple exchanged vows in the British Virgin Islands, surrounded by close family and friends. The wedding capped off a week of tropical festivities, with guests spending their days kitesurfing, snorkeling, and visiting the island’s resident lemurs.
Donaldson confirmed the news to his massive audience by sharing the first official photos on Instagram. He wore a classic black and white tuxedo by Ralph Lauren, while Booysen walked the aisle in a custom white gown by Nicole + Felicia Couture.
The photo carousel captured the newlyweds walking down the aisle, posing for portraits, and cutting their reception cake. Donaldson kept his caption brief, writing, “I found MrsBeast and it was the best day of my life.”
Who is Thea Booysen?
Booysen is a South African content creator and Twitch streamer known online as TheaBeasty. Beyond her streaming career, she is the co-owner of the South African esports organization Nixuh.
Her academic background is extensive. Booysen holds dual degrees in law and psychology from Stellenbosch University and a master’s degree in human cognitive neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh.
She also established herself as an author in 2022 with the publication of her debut young adult novel, The Marked Children.
From South Africa to the Altar
The couple’s relationship began in 2022 when Donaldson traveled to South Africa. An initial conversation quickly turned into a relationship, and they made their first public appearance together at the Kids’ Choice Awards in April of that year.
After more than two years of dating, Donaldson proposed on Christmas Day in 2024. He popped the question with both of their families present, setting the stage for their private island wedding.
