Retiring the Glazed Doughnut

Hailey Bieber is officially changing her signature summer nail shade. The beauty mogul stepped out in New York City with a solid cornflower blue manicure, marking a sharp departure from the sparkling “glazed doughnut” aesthetic she championed for years.

On Sunday, Bieber attended an exclusive 2026 World Cup Final after-party hosted by Skylrk. Following the match at MetLife Stadium, she arrived alongside her husband, Justin Bieber.

A Shift to Solid Hues

Bieber isn’t the only celebrity rewriting the rules for a summer nail look. While milky pinks and chrome nudes dominated previous seasons, bolder shades like tomato red, plum, midnight blue, and inky black are taking over.

Minimalism hasn’t entirely vanished. Beauty insiders are still embracing the translucent “no-mani mani” or “soap nails”—a pale pink and pearly white style popularized last year by Tom Bachik, manicurist to Selena Gomez.

Stephanie Stone, celebrity nail artist for Sally Hansen, still sees value in the understated approach. “Right now, I’m loving sheer, ultra-glossy manicures,” Stone noted in June. “They feel soft, polished and timeless, which is exactly why they’re such a natural fit for wedding season and summer in general.”

Bieber’s Track Record of Beauty Risks

Bieber frequently balances her daring beauty choices with a modest fashion uniform, often favoring black capris and leather jackets or simple jeans and a baby T-shirt. Her recent nail history proves she is moving past standard neutrals.

Last December, she tapped her longtime manicurist Zola Ganzorigt—who also works with Sabrina Carpenter and Kylie Jenner—for a striking leopard-print set.

By the 68th annual Grammy Awards, Bieber took another risk. She walked the red carpet with a complex four-shade manicure utilizing OPI colors: “Barefoot in Barcelona,” “Cliffside Karaoke,” “You Don’t Know Jacques!” and “Big Apple Red.”

After-Party Footwear & Weekend Style

Beyond manicures, the Skylrk after-party served as a showcase for throwback summer footwear. Guests opted for distinctive shoe silhouettes that rivaled Bieber’s thong sandals.

Meanwhile, international fashion moments continued to make waves outside of New York. In Mexico City, Zendaya channeled Audrey Hepburn by debuting a bold micro-bang hairstyle.

On the business side of the beauty industry, corporate strategy is shifting rapidly. Executive Andrea Galletti recently made headlines as Satinine prepares to accelerate its global distribution and product expansion.
