World Cup Momentum Pushes Anthem to the Top
Shakira and Burna Boy are riding high on the massive success of the 2026 World Cup. Their official tournament anthem, “Dai Dai,” just claimed the top spot on the Latin Airplay chart for the July 25 tracking period.

The track vaulted from fourth place to first, fresh off its reign on the Billboard Global 200. This milestone immediately follows the duo’s historic performance during the World Cup’s first-ever halftime show.
Shakira Extends Historic Lead
This achievement marks Shakira’s 25th No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart. The Colombian superstar has now extended her record for the most chart-toppers by a female artist in the ranking’s 32-year history.
J Balvin currently holds the overall record with 40 No. 1 hits. Shakira previously held the summit in January 2025 with “Soltera,” which was her first solo chart-topper since 2009’s “Loba.”
According to Luminate, “Dai Dai” secured the top position by generating a 25% increase in audience impressions. The track reached 7.3 million listeners across 152 US Latin-reporting stations between July 10 and July 16.
Burna Boy’s Unprecedented Crossover
Burna Boy struck gold on his very first attempt on a Latin chart. The Nigerian singer-songwriter previously charted on Billboard when his album L.I.F.E.: Leaving An Impact For Eternity broke into the top 10 on the Reggae Albums chart.
This marks his second No. 1 hit of 2026. He previously led the Rhythmic Airplay chart for four weeks in January as a featured artist on Gunna’s “wgft.”
A Global Chart Sweep
Since premiering at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City on June 11, “Dai Dai” has conquered charts worldwide. The Latin Airplay coronation is the track’s 10th No. 1 globally.
The song’s absolute dominance is reflected across multiple international rankings by their peak dates:
- June 27: Billboard Colombia Hot 100 (4 weeks), Switzerland Songs (4 weeks)
- July 4: Billboard Global Excl. U.S. (3 weeks), Austria Songs (2 weeks)
- July 11: Billboard Argentina Hot 100 (1 week), Luxembourg Songs (2 weeks)
- July 18: Billboard Global 200 (2 weeks), Germany Songs (1 week), Belgium Songs (1 week)
- July 25: Latin Airplay (1 week)
Post-Tournament Tracking
The World Cup officially wrapped up on July 19, culminating in the massive halftime show. Because this performance fell squarely inside the July 17-23 tracking week, “Dai Dai” is expected to see a sharp surge in global streams and sales.
However, industry analysts note the song’s momentum could soon begin to cool. The final four days of the current tracking cycle took place entirely after the tournament’s conclusion.
