Zendaya and Tom Holland have officially traded their Greek mythology press tour for superhero promotion. Fresh off their global run for The Odyssey, the newlyweds touched down in Mexico City for the premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
While posing for solo photos on the red carpet, Zendaya fielded an unexpected question from the crowd. “Zendaya, will you marry me?” a fan shouted.
The actress laughed off the proposal with a quick reality check. “It’s too late!” she replied.
Holland Fully Embraces the “Wife” Title
The Mexico City exchange is just the latest nod to the couple’s newly married status. Holland has been actively dropping references to his wife during recent media appearances.
During an interview on the Dish podcast, the actor was asked who he would bring on a vacation to Greece. His answer was immediate.
“I think probably my wife would be pretty good,” Holland said. “It would be a bit strange if I went, ‘Sorry, babe, I’m gonna take Matt [Damon, their Odyssey co-star] actually.’”
Holland also shut down a reporter who asked if Zendaya’s character in The Odyssey, Athena, harbored romantic feelings for Damon’s Odysseus. Holland quickly quipped, “No, because she’s married to me.”
A Quiet Wedding and a Public Declaration
The couple’s marital status was officially confirmed by Holland in June. Speaking to British Vogue, he revealed they had secretly tied the knot in an intimate ceremony attended by their families.
He kept the exact date under wraps, telling the magazine, “That’s all you’ll get on that.”
Despite his reluctance to share wedding details, Holland did not hold back when discussing the depth of their relationship. He described their partnership as an essential anchor in the high-stress entertainment industry.
“We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it’s like to live this life,” Holland explained. “For me, I found my person.”
He added that Zendaya is his absolute best friend. “I’m the happiest I ever have been when I’m with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”
