The new songs, “Out of Nowhere” and “Love Letter,” were made available exclusively on iTunes for a limited window starting at 6 p.m. PT on Sunday.
“Hey SURPRISE Daughter from Hell (Bonus Tracks) with OUT OF NOWHERE and LOVE LETTER will be available to download tonight… if you can believe it,” Abrams posted on social media. She expressed deep gratitude for the early reception of the record, noting that fan messages made her heart “grow ten sizes.”
A Collaborative Effort
Daughter From Hell is the highly anticipated follow-up to last year’s The Secret of Us (Deluxe). The project reunites Abrams with producer Aaron Dessner of the National, who also shaped her first two albums, Good Riddance and The Secret of Us.
The LP boasts an impressive roster of co-writers. Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and Abrams’ longtime best friend Audrey Hobert both hold writing credits. Her partner, Paul Mescal, also stepped into the studio to co-write the track “Imaginary Friend.”
Taking the Music Live
Fans will soon hear the new material in person when Abrams embarks on the Look at My Life Tour. The extensive run of shows kicks off in Denver, Colorado, on December 2.
The singer made no effort to hide her excitement about returning to the stage. “We’re baaaaaack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Abrams told her followers. “I HAVE MISSED YOU AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!”
