New Album ‘Petal’ Arrives
Ariana Grande is celebrating the release of her eighth studio album, Petal, with a massive weekend event in New York City.
Republic Records officially drops the highly anticipated project on Friday, July 31st. The album is anchored by the lead single, “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” a track co-written and produced by Grande, ILYA, and Max Martin.
The release is accompanied by a cinematic music video for the single. Directed by Christian Breslauer, the visual features cinematography by Academy Award winner Janusz Kaminski.
NYC Pop-Up Experience
To mark the album’s debut, Grande is launching a three-day interactive takeover at UMusic Shop NY, located at 2 Penn Plaza.
The activation runs from July 31st through August 2nd, opening daily from 10 am to 8 pm. Fans can explore immersive décor, access custom photo moments, and grab items from a complimentary flower cart while supplies last.
The pop-up will also debut exclusive official Petal merchandise. Available items include vinyl records, zip-ups, crewnecks, tees, makeup pouches, and tote bags.
Touring and Philanthropy
The album launch coincides with Grande’s long-awaited return to the stage. She is currently traveling across the globe on her Eternal Sunshine Tour, with dates scheduled through the fall.
Off the stage, she recently expanded her charitable work. On June 12th, Grande launched The Brighter Days Ahead Foundation to fund organizations supporting vulnerable communities.
The foundation is already working with Backline as a grantee for the Heal & Dream Fund. The initiative focuses on expanding access to vital mental health care and community support.
Box Office Dominance and Hollywood Future
Beyond music, Grande is riding the massive success of Jon M. Chu’s feature films Wicked and Wicked: For Good. Starring as Glinda opposite Cynthia Erivo’s Elphaba, and alongside Michelle Yeoh, Jonathan Bailey, and Jeff Goldblum, the films have grossed over $1.2 billion worldwide.
This box office haul makes it the highest-grossing film series ever based on a Broadway musical. Grande’s performance earned her Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Academy Awards, Golden Globes, BAFTA, Critics Choice, and SAG Awards, while Wicked secured Best Picture nods at the Oscars and Golden Globes.
Her acting career continues to accelerate. Grande recently wrapped production on Universal’s Focker-In-Law alongside Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro, which hits theaters this November.
She is also slated to appear in an upcoming season of FX’s American Horror Story and will voice a character in Warner Bros.’ animated adaptation of Dr. Seuss’s Oh, the Places You’ll Go!
Looking further ahead, Grande will make her London West End stage debut in 2027. She is set to star in a revival of Sunday in the Park with George, reuniting with her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey.
