Streaming Resurgence Meets Franchise Milestone
The $7 billion (£5.23 billion) Fast & Furious franchise has reclaimed its grip on streaming audiences as it celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Since its debut in 2001, the saga has delivered 10 blockbuster movies.
According to Collider, a surge of renewed interest has pushed Fast Five, The Fast And The Furious, and Fast & Furious 6 into the global top 10 on HBO.
Filming the Finale
The streaming spike arrives as production ramps up on the 11th and final installment of the saga.

Earlier this month, Diesel posted an Instagram video from the set to thank his supporters. “People are grinding. Incredible crews are working,” he said. “You’ve been patient to the industry, you’ve been patient to the studio, and you’ve been patient with me.”
The actor noted that the production team has spent the last three and a half years working to deliver a massive cinematic finale.
Scheduled for a theatrical release on March 17, 2028, Fast Forever will feature a heavy-hitting roster of returning stars. The cast includes Jason Statham, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Jason Momoa, Nathalie Emmanuel, Sung Kang, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris.
Honoring Paul Walker at Cannes
The franchise’s 25-year milestone was recently highlighted at the Cannes Film Festival in May during a special screening of the original 2001 film.
The showing earned a four-minute standing ovation from the crowd.
Diesel attended the event alongside Meadow Walker, the daughter of his late co-star Paul Walker. Paul tragically died in a car crash in 2013 at age 40, when Meadow was just 15.

Addressing the audience and using his personal nickname for Walker, Diesel said, “I pray that in your life, you can have a brother like Pablo.”
He detailed how certain scenes carry a different emotional weight for him today. He pointed to a specific car scene when Walker first told him he had a one-year-old daughter—a conversation that deeply shaped the overarching theme of family throughout the films.
During the event, Diesel embraced Meadow and shared a profound realization she had told him earlier that day.
“She said, ‘I’m 27, and I’m watching this film that my father made at 27,'” Diesel recounted to the crowd. “Meadow has been such a source of strength, and I know he’d be so proud of you.”
